Ibero-American Thinkers Praise Casa de las Americas AwardCienfuegos, Cuba, Jan 21. -Argentine narrator Martin Kohan and Spanish critic Eduardo Becerra praised the importance for their respective countries of the Casa de las Americas Literature Award, in the framework of its 52nd edition in that Cuban province.

Kohan, member of the jury, told Prensa Latina he is glad for the number of Argentinean novels in contest.

The Casa Award has a great importance in Argentina, said the winner of the 2007 Herralde Novel Prize.

It is a prize that recalls the presence of Julio Cortazar, Rodolfo Walsh, David Vinas, and Ricardo Piglia, he added.

Meanwhile, Becerra stated that for those persons linked to the Latin American literature, the award is a significant point of reference, and maintains its presence more than 50 years after its creation. (Prensa Latina)
