Tony Succar releases new song with Cimafunk, Alexander Abreu
The album entitled ‘Mas de mi’ (More of me) also contains other collaborations with renowned Cuban singers such as Haila and Isaac Delgado.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Succar noted his longstanding interest in Cuban music, and noted his honor on working with musicians such as Cimafunk and Alexander Abreu, who is a major salsa star and key representative of Cuba.
These two musicians unite two different worlds: Alexander has his roots in Cuban timba and jazz, while Cimafunk offers a mix of Afro-Cuban funk. Succar noted that on recording, the three wanted to do something different.
‘El tren del sabor’ was composed by Succar, Jorge Luis Piloto and Cimafunk, with the collaboration of Marc Quiñones.
The album ‘Mas de mi’ was nominated for the upcoming Latin Grammy Awards as Album of the Year and Best Salsa Album. It also obtained nominations in the sections of Best Producer of the Year and Best Tropical Song for his collaboration with Angel Lopez with the track ‘Mas de mi.’
Succar has performed on one occasion in Cuba, at a jazz festival held in Havana, and stated that although he doesn’t have a date yet, he would love to play again in Cuba.
The promotional tour of his album ‘Mas de mi’ will begin on October 19 at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in New York. Succar will visit other cities in the United States such as Miami, and will also perform in Lima, Peru.
Tony Succar is an instrumentalist and producer who, despite his young age, already has extensive experience in the Latin music scene in the United States, and has collaborated with prestigious musicians such as Tito Nieves, India, Jon Secada and Marc Anthony, among others.
