Cuba Hosts Int’l Orthopedics Event

Havana, Sep 22. -New techniques to treat orthopedic diseases and injuries will be the main focus of the 22nd International Congress of the Cuban Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology "Ortopedia 2011" starting Thursday in this capital.Orthopedists, and physical therapists from about 20 countries will debate until September 24 issues such as minimum-access surgery in orthopedics and Traumatology, treatment of pelvic ring fracture and its complications, the event´s organizing committee stated.

Also on the list is total shoulder and elbow arthroplasties, and advances in arthroscopic surgery and children´s hip.

Brought together at the "Frank Pais" International Orthopedics Scientific Complex´s conference center, participants in event will learn on surgical instruments to be used in Cuba for the treatment of bone problems.

This Congress will run along a fair where renowned professors will display their newest instruments.

Problems such as spine deformities, bone and soft tissue tumors, peripheral and paraplegic paralysis, rheumatism and injuries are being treated in this institution of international prestige. (Prensa Latina)
