Peruvian Press Highlights Cuban Message to Humala Lima, Jun 27. – Local press reports on Wednesday highlighted the wishes of success expressed by Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura to Peruvian President-elect Ollanta Humala. Machado Ventura made his remarks during his speech on July 26, the 58th anniversary of the Attack on Moncada Barracks, a turning point for the Cuban Revolution, and a national holiday on the island.

The newspapers La Republica and Correo, as well as the website Terra posted excerpts of the speech by Machado Ventura, who said that Humala�s victory was an example of the continuing advance of progressive forces in Latin America.

Machado Ventura will represent his country at Humala�s inauguration and the 190th anniversary of Peruvian independence on Thursday.

In his speech yesterday, the Cuban vice president also said that Humala was leading a nationalist program with more equality in the distribution of wealth, and that Cuba wished him success in this endeavour.(Prensa Latina)
