Cuban President Congratulates Angola

Cuban President Congratulates AngolaLuanda, Nov 10. – President of Cuba Raul Castro congratulated on Tuesday his Angolan counterpart Jose Eduardo dos Santos and the Angolan people for the 35th anniversary of Angola's independence.

The congratulatory message, sent by Raul Castro on behalf of leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, and of the government and people of Cuba, was given to Dos Santos by Army General Leopoldo Cintra Frias, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba.

The text also highlights the positive march of bilateral links and the possibilities to broaden and diversify further the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Cintra Frias, also Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, said that issues of interest to both countries in the fields of health, construction, education and industry, among others, were discussed in a meeting with Dos Santos.

Angola achieved its independence and emerged as a Republic on November 11, 1975, after years of struggle by its people, along with internationalist fighters from Cuba and other countries.(Prensa Latina)
