Peasants from Santa Cruz del Sur benefited from Cooperation Project

Peasants from Santa Cruz del Sur benefited from Cooperation Project Santa Cruz del Sur, Ago 21. -The ANAP (National Association of small Farmers) develops a cooperation project in Santa Cruz del Sur, sponsored by Oxfam, a non-governmental European Organization. This Organization has supplied technical means and agriculture devices for the improvement and development of the agriculture in South Camaguey.

These donations include engines for tractors, pneumatics, batteries, and roofs for the dairies, among some other products. This easies the everyday work of the peasantry, and it is translated into a greater yield in the cattle raising, mainly in the milk production.

In the white liquid production by the southern peasants we can perceive the importance of this cooperation project, according to the noticeable increase of the milk production, which are over the benchmarked goals for the present season.

Oxfam has been in Cuba since 1999, it works within the frame of the Joint Program of Oxfam International (lead by Oxfam Belgium and Oxfam Canada) carrying cooperation projects together with several local organizations. (Hugo Betancourt Mayoral / Radio Santa Cruz)
