Nature Tourism Event to Present Attractive Modalities in Cuba
Havana, Dec 5 .-Hiking, river tours and bird watching are some of the activities reserved by the 12th edition of the Nature Tourism Event (Turnat-2019) in Cuba.
It allows unforgettable ecotourism adventures for next September, adds the publication.
#AuthenticCuba #CubaDestinationSafety #Trinidad #Cienfuegos #CienagaDeZapata and #EcoturCuba are some of the hashtags highlighted in the publication.
Turnat-2019 will show the natural and historic wealth of the Zapata Swamp, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2000 and the home to the best prserved wetland in the insular Caribbean, Cecilio Larena, a commercial specialist for the local tourism company, told Prensa Latina.
This territory has an area around 10,500 square kilometers in the south of the province of Matanzas, about 180 kilometers southeast of Havana, and stands out for its exceptional flora and fauna.
This statement is supported by more than 900 varieties of plants, 160 varieties of birds, including three endemic species: the Santo Tomas chicken, the ferminia and the swamp goat, and numerous species of mammals, fish, amphibians and reptiles like the Cuban crocodile.
‘Our tourist proposals include bird watching, particularly from November to April, and year-round diving in coastal areas and in flooded caves,’ Larena said.
For Turnat, Cuba’s most important biennial meeting on nature tourism, which we are hosting for the second time, we designed two excursions about local history and charcoal production, typical of the swamp economy, Larena added. (Prensa Latina)
