10 Central Issues at Bolivian Social Summit

La Paz, Dec 12. -The Social Summit that on Monday begins in Bolivia will tackle 10 central issues for the design of social organizations in the country´s new development agenda on the political, economic and social order since 2012.Growing Attendance at Social Summit in BoliviaThe 10 central points will be on economic development, security and food sovereignty, wages, land and territory, employment and job stability, health, education, basic services and housing, public safety, fighting crime, legislative development, autonomy and communication, Cambio newspaper reported.

Rural, native, and inter-cultural organizations will direct their participation towards a plural economy and the productive model, such as central issues of the meeting, starting today through December 14 in the department of Cochabamba.

The Union Confederation of Peasant Workers of Bolivia (CSUTCB) stated, among other questions, the deepening of the process of change with the impetus to the agricultural production and the fair distribution of lands for all indigenous people who still do not have it.

The "Bartolina Sisa" National Federation of Indigenous Peasant Women of Bolivia, also stated, according to its executive secretary Julia Ramos, that the discussion is based on the productive issue, and the industrialization of natural resources as mainstays for the new community economic model.

The Federation of Inter-cultural Peace Communities will give priority to the country´s productive issue, compared with security and food sovereignty, according to the general secretary of the organization, Serapio Marco. (Prensa Latina)
