Venezuela Venue for World Martial Arts Championship
Caracas, Sep 30. -Teams form 13 Latin American and European countries will be participating at the 2011 World Martial Arts Championship from October 13 to 16 in this capital, announced the Venezuelan Sports Ministry.In a press note on Thursday the ministry indicated that competitions will be gathering nearly 1,200 athletes in the free-hand styles, weapons, self defense and combat at the Naciones Unidas Park in Parroquia El Paraiso, Caracas.
Representatives from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Mexico, Spain, United States, Sweden, Panama and Venezuela, said Venezuela Kempo Federation president Jose Aponte.
According to Aponte, the Venezuelan delegation will be formed by 24 kempo athletes, together with other athletes from different regional associations.
An international seminar will be taught in the frame of the event on October 13 and 14, by Masters Igmar Johansson (Sweden), Emmanuel Hart (France), Richard Planas (Cuba) and Gilberto Velez (US).
This will be the third edition of the event, constituting a good time for the Venezuelan athletes to increase points in the national ranking, and a great competitive chance for locals and foreigners. (Prensa Latina)
