Cuba Winds up Intil Hip Hop SymposiumHavana, Aug 22. – Key issues to boost the social repercussion of rappers were discussed during the last day of the International Symposium of Hip Hop, held in Havana with the attendance of artists from the United States, Haiti, Canada and Cuba.

On Sunday, participants in the event carried out an intensive agenda in Las Terrazas community, located in the western province of Pinar del Rio, considered the first eco-museum of the island.

Osmel Francis, director of Cubanos en la Red band, gave a lecture on the need to boost strategies to protect environment.

Francis called participants to write texts on problems such as climate change to boost environmental awareness among young people and in communities.

Magia Lopez, director of the Cuban Agency of Rap, urged rappers to raise quality of texts and encourage community projects including the four elements of this culture: rap, breakdance, Dj and graffiti.

Founded in 2005, the Symposium also included sessions on breakdance, gender and body language, led by French professor and choreographer Jeison Touzeau; and theater actress Lourdes Suarez.(Prensa Latina)
