Fidel Castro at the World Economy Research CenterHavana, Jul 14. – The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, visited the World Economy Research Center on Tuesday, where he was welcomed by its director Osvaldo Martinez.

For more than one hour, Fidel Castro exchanged points of view with researchers of this prestigious center on the grave dangers of a new war in the Middle East and the terrible threat posed for the human race by the destruction of the environment before their own eyes.

According to the radio and TV program Round Table, Fidel summoned specialists to think about how the countries of our America can face such challenges and boost a new civilization that does not repeat the errors committed to this date.

Fidel Castro hended to participants in the meeting a message of his own to share it with economists of this country and other parts of the world.

The World Economy Research Center is a Cuban scientific institution belonging to the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment, which for the last 30 years has carried out investigations on the main topics of the world economy.

Such studies have put emphasis on the problems affecting underdeveloped countries and put forward solutions to those problems.

It is a reference center on these topics in the Latin American and the Caribbean region and has organized several international events.

As he bid farewell to his hosts, Fidel Castro was applauded by neighbors of the research center, who approached him when they were aware of his presence to greet him.(Prensa Latina)
