Caracas, Nov 30.- The explosion occurred last night at an electrical substation in Guaparo, Carabobo state; the sabotage was denounced today by Electric Energy Minister, Luis Motta Dominguez.

The minister reported during a telephone conversation with Venezolana de Television state-owned channel that the explosion was followed by a fire that completely affected the electric service of Valencia state capital but a 90 percent of it has already restored thanks to the work of firemen and workers of the National Electricity Corporation (Corpoelec).

The data compiled by the investigators says that the explosion was caused by violent people, which pretend to generate chaos and destabilization, facing the December 10 municipal elections.

Motta stated that once the incident was controlled, officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) entered the site and found evidence of this new sabotage.

The Venezuelan minister warned some days ago about the increase of these events against the electricity system as part of the actions to destabilize the country, facing the December 10 municipal elections.

According to Motta, about 46 people were killed and 381 were arrested this year for actions against the electrical system.

Authorities state that of those deaths, 32 occurred prior to elections: 15 from the call to the election of the National Constituent Assembly; nine before the election of governors; and eight prior to the coming municipal elections.
