South-Camaguey farmers plan short-cycle sowing of tuber

Santa Cruz del Sur, Apr 4. – Farmers in Santa Cruz del Sur expect to increase the grow of short-cycle tuber to support the sales of foodstuff to the population, explained Yoanquis Armuñes, delegate of the agriculture sector In this territory.

Nowadays farmers maintain the fields sowed with banana, but their goal is to raise the plantation of tuber which get faster to the sales outlet and meet the need of the clients.

Situation is different in the vegetables, farmers keep working on the semi-protected crops and supply the points of sale with a variety of vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, beets, and many other that supplement the people’s diet.
