More than Flamenco to Remember Cuba in New York

But ours is much more contemporary, with a current and renovating vision, and a minimalist scene where everything lies exactly in the quality of the interpretation of the dancers and, of course, of the musicians, noted Rodriguez.

We also give a lot of value to the choreographic staging, which has much more renovating artistic interests and deeper arguments, she stressed.

The idea is to make flamenco a universal language -such as contemporary or classical dance- and not a folkloric style that can only be assumed by Spanish performers, added the first dancer, teacher and choreographer.

Since 2012, Irene Rodriguez has been guiding the course of her own group and barely a year later, she opened a Professional School of Spanish Dances that serves as a reserve for the prestigious company.
