University Congress in Cuba to Launch Virtual Magazine Havana, Feb 8. – Organizers of the 8th University 2012 Congress, to be held in Cuba next week, will publish a digital magazine, as part of a strategy to socialize the debates on the role of higher education, official sources said on Wednesday.

The magazine will have three or four electronic issues that will publish the best works discussed at the five-day forum, scheduled to run from February 13 to 17, Mercedes Gonzalez, from the organizing committee, told Prensa Latina.

Regarding the search for recognition for the publication, Gonzalez said they expect to comply with international standards to place it in prestigious databases.

The issues, which will be published at the end of the biennial event and before 2014, will be available at www.congresouniversidad.cu, where the best of over 2,000 papers submitted on this occasion will be posted.

Participants in the congress will have a space to follow up on the works among congresses and to spread the most transcendental results, as well as to generate reflection about the main challenges of the university reality.

Ministers from 18 Latin American, African, European and Asian countries, among 500 personalities, including 1980 Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel, have confirmed participation in the Congress.(Prensa Latina)
