Havana, Jun 15 .-Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel studied the national program of foreign investment and the actions to achieve greater economic growth in the country, reported local television.
During a meeting attended by leaders of the main agencies involved in the issue, the head of State recalled that, after understanding the importance of the area, foreign investment went from a complementary role to a determinant role for the island in the interests of achieving the desired growth.
Exports are very much associated with this, since a large part of the foreign investment that we must achieve falls on sectors that help to increase them, as well as to replace imports, the president said.
He also commented that it is essential to diversify exports, in addition to making the processes more viable and less cumbersome.
He also recalled that the strengthening of foreign investment is indicated in all instances of the state, the government and the Communist Party of Cuba as the most feasible way for the development of the nation.
Regarding this priority, he stressed that there will be systematic verifications to check the progress made. (Prensa Latina)
