LatAm Film Festival Opens in Havana
Havana, Dec 1. -The 33rd Havana´s International Festival of New Latin American Cinema opens in this capital from today to December 11 with 120 films from 10 countries to compete for the Coral awards.Brazil, Mexico and Argentina are the most represented nations at the festival, in which young and veteran filmmakers will compete for awards.
This event pays special homage to Chilean painter Roberto Matta, Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Gabo) and Cuban filmmaker Humberto Solas.
The festival sets up an annual competition in Fiction, Documentary and Animation, First Work, Unproduced Script and Poster.
Besides that, the program includes a showcase of contemporary world cinema, the Industry initiatives, as well as meetings and seminars on issues of cultural interest, especially cinema. (Prensa Latina)
