Havana, Nov 30. -The hurricane season in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico this year officially ends this November 30th with little damage for Cuba, said Maritza Ballester Perez, specialist in Cuba''s Meteorology Institute Forecast Center (INSMET).

She noted that no hurricane or tropical storm had directly affected the Island in the period running from June 1st to November 30th.

Only Irene, a category three hurricane in the Saffir-Simpson Scale, dropped some rain on the archipelago late in August, although it caused some damage in the Bahamas and to a lesser extend on the East coast of The United States.
