Cuba to Host Earth Sciences Convention
Havana, Jan 19. -The 4th Earth Sciences Convention will be held in Cuba on April 4-8, with the presence of experts from nearly 20 countries, head of the organizing committee Manuel Iturralde announced.
In a press conference, Iturralde, who is president of the Cuban Geology Association, said that the program of the event also includes the congresses on Geology, Gephysics, Mining, Geoinformatics and Oil and Gas, as well as several workshops and special events.
He said that about 600 Cuban papers and 200 foreign papers are expected to be presented by experts from France, Angola, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Poland, Brazil, Canada and the United States, and a sideline exhibit of services, goods and technologies for geosciences will be held.
This convention is a scientific, cultural and economic event which has gained importance for the development of the Island, said Iturralde. (Prensa Latina)
