Cuba: Experts to Discuss Injustice in Cuban Five CaseHavana, Nov 17. -The arbitrary proceedings against five Cubans imprisoned in U.S. since 1998 will focus the attention of experts from 20 countries at the tenth International Conference on Criminal Sciences.

Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez are serving sentences ranging up double life plus 15 years in prison because they reported on the criminal plans of anti-Cuban groups settled in the U.S. state of Florida.

In the event, which begins on November 23 at the Havana Conventions Palace in Havana, will take part prestigious lawyers, told the Cuban News Agency Miguel Ángel Garcia Alzugaray, coordinator of the Organizing Committee of the meeting.

Garcia said that during the event, experts will discuss the requirement that U.S. President Barack Obama orders the release of the Five, as they are known internationally.

About 300 professionals from Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and hanconfirmaron their presence at the conference, considered the oldest and most comprehensive of its kind in Ibero-America since its first edition in 1992.

Lawyers, judges, prosecutors, attorneys, legal advisers, criminologists, sociologists, social workers and students will discuss, among other things, criminal justice and law, society, terrorism and criminal law. (Prensa Latina)
