Havana, Nov 30.- The 40th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema of Havana will receive a Platinum Ibero-American Film Award as an acknowledgement of its contribution to enrich the cultural identity of the region, organizers said on Thursday.
For four decades, the event has brought together important figures of Latin American cinema and has become a space for exchange between the countries of the region and European nations, according to the press release.
The 40th edition of the Festival will be dedicated to the 90th birthday of the outstanding Cuban moviemaker Tomas Gutierrez Alea, Titon (1928-1996).
At the same time, the Platinum Awards, created in 2014, have highlighted the work of the Ibero-American film industry made by public or private institutions around the world. (Prensa Latina)
