Cuba Hosts International Piano Event, Musicalia 2019
Havana, Jun 18 .-The International Piano Event, Musicalia 2019, to be held in Havana until June 22, will open on Monday with a concert by Costa Rican David Saravia.
With the participation of students from Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Cuba, the event is conceived as a competition for students and a space for exchange between specialists and piano beginners.
For these reasons, a special section was planned during the program for the master classes that, according to the president of the event Ulises Hernandez, becomes a fundamental part of the meeting.
There is a pedagogical tradition in Cuba and a high academic level that makes the classes one of the most anticipated moments for the participants, many of whom only come for that reason, he said.
This year’s event will receive a score of contestants, seven of them from Cuba, and five foreigners who come exclusively to take the lessons taught by renowned international piano masters. (Prensa Latina)
