Bahamas Develops Tourism

Nassau, Jan 24. -Bahaman authorities, including Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham and entrepreneurs, on Tuesday expressed their confidence in the recovery of tourism in 2012.According to Ingraham, the government expects this year to mark a turning point in the recovery and return to sustained growth of tourism in the region.

The first signs of improvement are evident, the tourism sector has reported a strong upturn in arrivals in Bahamas since November, Ingraham stressed at the inauguration of the Hotel Caribbean, in the Atlantis tourist resort.

The prime minister also highlighted government's measures to develop the so-called smokeless industry, including construction works in several regions of the country.

The improvement of infrastructures has had a double benefit: setting long-term values in important places and creating jobs and business opportunities in times of recession, Ingraham added. (Prensa Latina)
