Del Potro Maintains Latin American Leadership in Tennis Ranking

Monte Carlo, Jan 16. -Argentine tennis player Juan Martin del Potro retained the Latin American leadership in the world ranking while maintaining the 11th place and totaling 2,315 points, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) announced on Monday.

Del Potro, who won the 2009 U.S. Open and former 4th place in the ranking, is the only Latin American player among the top 20.

The top 10 were unchanged in the ATP ranking, led by Serbian player Novak Djokovic with 13,630 points, followed by Spanish Rafael Nadal (9,595) and Roger Federer (8,010).

Finnish Jarkko Nieminen had the best improvement while advancing 28 places to rank 49th.
