Cuba Boosts Vietnam-Sponsored Rice ProductionHavana, Jun 15. -A Vietnamese-Cuban cooperation project to promote rice growing in Cuba provides for technology transfer to the Grain Research Institute (IIGranos).

According to Bui Van Duong, head of the Cuba-Vietnam cooperation program for developing rice, more funds will be invested for research by IIGranos.

The program also provides support for an existing Cuban program for rice seed production and encouraging rice-growing in agro-industrial complexes, Duong said, interviewed by Prensa Latina.

The project covers all phases: advisement, training and instruction.

Duong attended the 5th International Rice Conference and the 1st Symposium on Grains, recently held at the Havana Conference Center with participants from 13 nations. (Prensa Latina)
