Amaury Torno, provincial delegate from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples in Holguin, stated on Friday that the number of participants should increase considerably in the coming months, before the event begins in November in this eastern city, the National News Agency reported.

The colloquium is one of the actions carried out for the release of the antiterrorist fighters taking place every year in Holguin, where members of the Committee of Solidarity with the island, in favor of the cause of the Caribbean nation and the Cuban Five, meet.

The confirmation was revealed as part of the world campaign "A 5 for The Cuban Five," an action carried out on the fifth day of each month, an idea that emerged during the 6th International Colloquium and has extended worldwide.

The Italian website quintavenida was launched in Holguin on Thursday, dedicated to Cuba, its culture, and especially to spread the truth about the unjust case against Ramon Labañino, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez.

Stefano Guastella, one of the creators of the site, stated the idea to develop the website emerged in March 1999, when he and four Italian friends decided to spread the reality of the Cuban people and culture.

Quintavenida is the fraternal link among the peoples of the two countries, noted Stefano, crteated essentially for the love we profess each day towards Cuba.

Gerardo, Antonio, Ramon, Fernando and Rene were detained on September 12, 1998 in the United States and tried in Miami in 2001 for monitoring the actions of anti-Cuban groups based in Florida, US, who enjoy the support of Washington. (Prensa Latina)
