Santa Cruz del Sur, May 1. –The support of the working class to the agreements of the VI Congress of the Cuban Communist Party was one of the motivations in Southern Camaguey for the May Day Parade in this International Workers’ Day.
Yulián León Rondón, Secretary of the Cuban Workers Confederation stated that this Sunday constituted an example of revolutionary ratification and highlighted that previous the date; similar acts were carried out in several Popular Councils dedicated to youth.
Since very early morning a huge crowd gathered in the main streets of the city to participate in the parade and get to the 28 de Septiembre Square, a place representing a landmark in our independence wars.
Representing the various work entities in this town, ten blocks of workers were organized: Public Health, Education, Agriculture, Communications, Fishing Industry, Commerce, Public Administration, and Metalworkers, among others, all of them supporting the updating process of the Cuban socialist economic model. .(Rolando Canaura Sánchez / Radio Santa Cruz)
