Havana, Mar 24. -Cuban children and adolescents will celebrate with a broad cultural program the 50th anniversary of the Jose Marti Pioneer Organization (OPJM) and the 49th anniversary of the Young Communist League (UJC).
Our children will be having their big party on the first two weekends of April, OPJM Vice President Manuel Valera announced in a press conference.
On the anniversaries of the two organizations, founded on April 4, 1960 and 1961, respectively, their members will also visit places of historical interest, take part in sport events and stay at Explorer Camps, the leader explained.
The main venue of celebrations, including fine arts exhibits, film screenings, book and music sales and gastronomical offers, will be the Havana-based Pabellon Cuba.
Activities dedicated to the 5th Congress of Pioneers will also include a gala performance at Karl Marx Theatre, attended by delegates and special guests.(Prensa Latina)
