Spanish expert highlights congress tourism

Havana, Oct 29.- The executive director of MITM Events, the Spanish Charo Trabado, assessed in a remarkable way the modalities of congress tourism, events and incentive trips.

The message highlights the successes of the recent 23 edition of MITM Americas, held this month at the National Hotel of Cuba.

Trabado, who has a strong relationship with the authorities of this country, said that the appointment in Havana was an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy the celebrations of the 500 years of this capital (November 16).

The acronym for MITM and MICE B2B refers to travel modalities for congresses, meetings and incentive trips, a highly dynamic segment within tourism.

Hence, the executive stressed the success of the MITM Method, when it meant that it is an authentic B2B MICE fair, in which the number of exhibitors never exceeds that of buyers.

This leads, he specified, to the fact that up to 20 percent of those who wish to attend participate in this business meeting.

Trabado said that it is a rigorous system of pre-established appointments.

She said that this work of MITM Events supports 50 fairs held in 34 cities in 18 countries, with four versions in Havana, which highlights the level of organization and guarantees offered by the island capital.

The most recent MITM Americas meeting, from October 14 to 17, was sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, Gran Caribe Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Nacional de Cuba (headquarters), and Cubatur as the official receptive, she said.

Iberia Airlines and Caribbeantours, Meliá Hotels, Iberostar Hotels and Muthu Hotels also joined the call.
