Evangelical Church urges to cease hostilities against Cuba

Havana, Nov 5.- Cuba’s Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession urged to cease hostilities and destabilizing attempts against the country in a letter released.

The text, signed by Reverend Ramon Miguel Benito, called for Cubans’ peace and rejected the formulas promoted by the US Government against the tranquility of the country.

“The US incumbent governments do not cease to seek formulas to truncate the peace that the homeland enjoys in spite of the shortages produced by the imperialist blockade itself,” the press release referred, to which Prensa Latina had access.

“We call on that US administration to stop the false peaceful march scheduled for November 15 to destabilize our nation,” the religious organization pointed out in the document.

At the same time, the Church’s members noted the influence of US political actors in arranging the initiative, considered unconstitutional by Havana.

“Cease hostilities against Cuba, respect our laws as Cuba respects those of the United States and all other nations that represent their peoples,” they demanded.

The Church’s representatives ratified the attachment of that evangelical institution with the measures of the Cuban Government to “avoid a fight among brothers and sisters, directed from the United States itself.”
