Cuba’s Hotel Nacional Recognized by World Travel Awards

Havana, Jan 31 .-Cuba’s Hotel Nacional was recognized in the World Travel Awards, as a seal of excellence for the travel industry and tourism.

 

The facility arrived at 88 years since its foundation, was recognized as the best in the island, said today in her page in Facebook, Janet Ayala, director of Communication of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism.

Ayala referred to other nominees for their high quality: Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski Havana, Hotel Florida, Iberostar Parque Central, Melia Cayo Coco and Melia Cohiba.

With an occupational level of almost 80 percent during 2018, the Hotel Nacional de Cuba receives visitors from different counrtries, mostly from Latin America and Europe.

Founded on December 30, 1930, it is the only five-star hotel with a 100 percent Cuban management.

The facility recognized as National Monument and Memory of the World by Unesco, has been awarded 14 years in a row, the distinction leader of hostelry in Cuba by the World Travel Awards.

During 2018, the hotel hosted important events, among them the International Wine Festival and the 40th edition of the Inrternational New Latin American Havana Film Festival.

The hotel has great historic features and stayed in it celebrities of the arts, sciences and politics.

Cuba has different awards that distinguish its hotels and tourism destinations among the best in the área, including the world.

Over the last few weeks of 2018, the hotels Buenavista and Paradisus Rio de Oro, both belonging to hotel group Melia Cuba, received thwe Prize to Excellence Condé Nast Johansens 2019, for the region of Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The facilities, located in the tourist resorts Cayo Santa Maria and Holguin, respectively, are distinguished for having high standards of comfort and a refined gastronomy.

As Melia added appropriately, such distinction is the result of the surveys on quality made among the guests added to the evaluation of an international team of inspectors.

Besides this, Varadero was selected the third best beach of the world according to the Travellers’ Choice Prizes 2018.

The award was based on the opinion of guests of diverse nationalities, puts the Cuban beach resort third in the list, only preceded by beach Grace Bay (Isles of Turks and Caicos) and that of Baia do Sancho, in Brazil. (Prensa Latina)
