U.S. Law Schools Prepare Forum for The Five

U.S. Law Schools Prepare Forum for The FiveHavana, Cuba, Aug 23.- The Faculty of Law of the University of the District of Columbia, in the United States, and several associations of law students and professionals organize a forum on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the unfair arrest of the five Cuban antiterrorists in that country.

The meeting has been organized for September 13, with the presence of Richard Klugh, lawyer of The Five, and Danny Glover, actor and firm defender of these anti-terrorist fighters condemned in 2001 to arbitrary sentences during a biased trial held in Miami.

Glover will also participate on October 24, in North Carolina, in two similar meetings at the Institute for the Study of the Americas (ISA) and the Faculty of Law of the North Carolina-Chapel Hill University, according to a note sent to ACN by the National Committee for the Freedom of The Five, coordinator of these actions.

Law students professors and the public of these communities will know the truth about this irregular process against Ramon Labañino, Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez (presently free in Cuba after serving his sentence plus a period of supervised release in U.S. territory).

The Five will be 15 years in jail on September 12, condemned to sentences ranging from 15 years to two life imprisonments plus 15 years, for monitoring the violent activities planned by Florida-based anti-Cuban extremist groups and warning their country about them.(ACN)
