Cuba: New Air Connection Boosts Tourism

Havana, Sep 21. -With the opening of a new direct air connection between El Salvador and Havana, Tourist industry in this country gets stronger and makes possible new proposals.The inaugural flight of Avianca-Taca airline on Tuesday now operates three times a week and has immediate connections for passengers to El Salvador Connections Center in the morning hours, according to official sources.

The route operates A319 aircraft with 120 positions and is part of the island's authorities efforts to expand tourism industry and facilitate travels to this country.

On the first flight arrived a group of executives from Avianca-Taca, tour operators, travel agents and journalists specialized in tourism. For several days, they will travel to recreational interesting sites in the capital and to Varadero resort.

Flights from San Salvador will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and the return from Havana on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, said the sources. (Prensa Latina)
