Chile to Clear Neruda’s Death

Santiago de Cuba, Jun 1. -Chile's Communist Party urged for a new probe to establish the true cause of the death of Poet Pablo Neruda, amid versions that allege he was assassinated by the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990).

PCCH President Guillermo Teillier, and some party Legislators from both wings in Parliament and representatives of human rights organizations, submitted the plea in Santiago to throw light on the end of the life of the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Teillier called it a moral duty to urge for the truth on the death of the remarkable militant and politician of Salvador Allende's Popular government (1970-1973).
