Nearly 300 Dead in US Tornadoes
 Washington, Apr 30. -The number of people killed by tornadoes and rains  that rocked the country´s southern area has almost reached 300, local  media reported on Friday.

The New York Times newspaper termed as terrible the situation faced by six states of the Union, in which some neighbourhoods and cities were razed.
It is estimated that two thirds of the deaths occurred in Alabama, where governor Robert Bently stated that 204 residents lost their lives.
Other victims included 33 in Tennessee, others in Mississippi, 15 in Georgia, five in Virginia and one in Kentucky. Figures are increasing, according to aid teams that are searching among the rubble.
President Barack Obama stated he will visit Alabama on Friday, to examine damages and meet with the governor and the families affected by the storm. (Prensa Latina)
