Havana Aug 30. -Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura received Paraguayan Foreign Minister Hector Ricardo Lacognata, who is on an official visit.
Both officials talked on Sunday about the state of bilateral ties, and their government's willingness to work in the development and strengthening of links between both nations.
They also analyzed other international issues, Cuba's early morning TV news program reported.
Machado Ventura thanked Lacognata for his country's traditional support for Cuba in its struggle against the unjust U.S.-imposed economic, financial and trade blockade for almost 50 years, and for the release of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in U..S jails since 1998.
Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez are serving harsh sentences solely for gathering information about terrorist plots by anti-Cuban organizations in Miami, Florida, in an effort to prevent the deaths of Cuban and even U.S. citizens.
