Fidel Castro Meets with Venezuelan Journalists Havana, Aug 9. – Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro met and discussed current affairs with Venezuelan journalists Vanessa Davis, Andres Izarra, Walter Martinez and Mario Silva.

During their meeting on Sunday, Fidel Castro and the reporters analyzed issues such as war threats against Iran, the nuclear danger, the role of the major powers, the situation between Colombia and Venezuela, environmental challenges, history's lessons, the battle of ideas, and the new world to be built.

The case of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in the United States since 1998 for preventing violent actions by groups in U.S. territory, was also discussed by the participants, along with other issues.

According to the website "Cubadebate," the meeting will be broadcast Monday on the Cubavision, Educativo and Cubavision Internacional channels, Radio Rebelde and Radio Habana Cuba simulanteously, beginning at 18:00 local time.

The Venezolana de Television and Telesur channels will also broadcast the meeting at 17:30 hours Venezuelan time.(Prensa Latina)
