United Airlines Ready to Fly to Cuba if AuthorizedHavana, Cuba, Jan 18.- United Airlines announced its plans to fly to Cuba from Houston, Texas, and Newark, New Jersey if it receives authorization by the US administration.

The announcement was made by United Airlines´ spokesperson Rahsaan Jonhson cited by international media outlets.

The Barack Obama administration implemented a series of measures on Friday easing limited trips to Cuba by US citizens under 12 different categories, though its withholds the Cuba-travel ban.

This and other measures come after the decision announced on December 17 by Washington and Cuba to reestablish diplomatic relations.

US airline companies and travel agencies are now allow to offer their services to Cuba without needing to apply for special licenses and US citizens that travel to the island will be able to use their credit cards and spend up to 400 dollars in Cuban products, with a limited 100-dollar amount for alcohol and cigars.

The measures adopted lift a series of restrictions, though the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba is still in force.(ACN)
