French Association Calls Criminal US Blockade on Cuba

French Association Calls Criminal US Blockade on Cuba Paris, May 22. – Members of the French Association Realities and International Relations (ARRI) qualified as criminal the over 50-year-old US blockade against Cuba.

The members of that group, who made a tour of various Cuban provinces last March, met with Havana's ambassador to Paris Orlando Requeijo.

In the meeting, the Cuban diplomat recalled that Washington's economic, commercial, and financial blockade on his country has been condemned 20 times at the UN General Assembly.

The direct economic losses caused to Cuba by that unjust policy until December 2010 exceeds 104 billion USD.

Such figure would increase to 975 billion USD if the depreciation of the dollar to the value of the gold in the world financial market is taking into consideration.

The blockade also hits other countries due to its extra territorial nature, recalled Requeijo and added that there are many companies that are banned from selling their products to Cuba.

The ARRI members highlighted Cuba's achievements in different sectors, despite the US unjust policy.(Prensa Latina)
