Beijing, Apr 25.- A group from the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) arrived in this capital on Wednesday to attend the Beijing Art Festival, at which the company will perform Swan Lake on April 28. "We came here to deliver our passion for dance and give ballet as friendship," first dancer Viengsay Valdes told Prensa Latina, referring to the reappearance of the BNC in China after eight years.
The audience will enjoy the art of a rejuvenated group, but its first dancers who repeat this time will perform with more experience, artistic maturity and perfection, Valdes said.
After four performances in Beijing, the company, directed by prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso, will perform twice in Shanghai and will continue with a similar program in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, to conclude the tour on May 9. (Prensa Latina)
