Polls to Reveal Mexican Leftist Candidate for 2012 Elections
Mexico, Nov 15. -The result of parallel surveys of two pollsters to define the best positioned Mexican leftwing candidate will be revealed on Tuesday, according to the leadership of the PRD (Partido de la Revolucion Democratica).An analysis by Nodos, Investigacion Estrategica and Covarrubias pollsters, companies chosen by the two aspirants, former 2006 presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Marcelo Ebrard, head of government of the Federal District, will be revealed today.
The 11th Special Plenary Session of the 7th PRD national council will also discuss and approve the call to elect the candidate for the elections to replace current President Felipe Calderon, of the PAN (Partido Accion Nacional).
Also on the list is the process to decide candidates for senators and deputies for the Mexican Congress in 2012, in addition to the coalition agreement with the Workers Party and the Citizen's Movement Party for the 2012 federal electoral process.
According to the PRD Political Commission, the National Elective Commission will eventually select all candidates, including the presidential candidate.
The last selection will take into account the results of the open survey to the citizenship about its preferences between the two aspirants for the presidency. (Prensa Latina)
