Che Guevara’s Daughter to Visit Peru

Lima, Oct 24. -Aleida Guevara March, one of the daughters of revolutionary fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, will arrive in Peru on Tuesday, along with Rosa Aurora Freijanes, wife of Fernando Gonzalez, one of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in U.S. prisons.

The two women will participate in several events in this capital. On Friday, they will travel to Arequipa, 1,025 kilometers south of Lima, where they will attend the 12th National Meeting on Solidarity with Cuba, to be attended by representatives of nearly 200 friendship associations from all over Peru.

The Cuban Embassy and the organizers of the events confirmed their visit in statements to Prensa Latina.

Aleida Guevara March and Rosa Aurora Freijanes will visit the Congress of the Republic in Lima, where they will meet with members of the Parliamentary Peru-Cuba Friendship League, and the San Marcos National University and the National Education University.

On Friday, Guevara, who is a physician, will participate as a pediatrician-allergist, in the closing session of a health campaign carried out by the Cuban Medical Brigade in the city of Pisco, 250 kilometers south of Lima.

Guevara and Freijanes will also meet with regional authorities and will visit the National University of San Agustin. (Prensa Latina)
