Raul Castro: Satisfactory Visit to Venezuela

Caracas, Apr 21. -Cuban President Raul Castro considers his visit to Venezuela as highly satisfactory since he held a working meeting with host President Hugo Chavez and attended the ninth ALBA Summit and the celebrations for the independence bicentenary.

  "We have worked hard. The Cuban delegation and I feel completely pleased with this visit", pointed out the Cuban Head of State in statements to Venezolana de Television from the Miraflores Palace.

Raul Castro also highlighted the intensive agenda carried out during the last two days.

The statesman was present on Monday at the civic-military parade that took place at Los Proceres avenue and also attended the special session of the National Assembly. Both events were in salute to the independence bicentenary from the Spanish colonialism.

He attended the ninth Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America, where he highlighted the importance of the regional integration and the sustained progress of projects with high social benefit as those promoted in matters of health and education.

Chavez received his Cuban peer at Miraflores and both held a working meeting.

According to the Venezuelan president, the bilateral meeting was useful to consolidate the political and socio-economic integration plans as well as the social programs carried out in Venezuela with Cuba's support.(Prensa Latina)
