Psicosalud 2011 Closes in Cuba
Havana, Nov 18. -The 6th International Conference on Health Psychology "Psicosalud 2011" will conclude here on Friday with debates on current issues of this specialty, staff training, sexuality and chronic diseases and hypnosis, among others.Jose Juan Ortiz, representative of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), on Thursday highlighted psychologists' role in health, as well as people's right to be protected, not only physically but also mentally.
Speaking on psycho-emotional recovery in disaster situations, the expert, who has participated in many military conflicts, mentioned political willingness in Cuba, where all children's education, health care and protection are guaranteed.
Psicosalud 2011 will close after three days of fruitful exchanges among more than 500 delegates from 20 countries.
Issues such as psychology in the elderly and children, psycho-ballet, emergencies and disasters, stress, violence, addictions, gender, epilepsy and sleep disorders were extensively discussed in the forum. (Prensa Latina)
