A series of tremors Rocked Guatemala
Guatemala, Sep 20. -The series of tremors that affected Guatemala on Monday reached to 6, according to data of the scientific institution spread here on TuesdayThe first 4.8-magnitude temblor hit just after noon local time and the third of the same magnitude hit at about 1:20 p.m. A fourth of 4.5-magnitude area reported south of the others at 2:30 p.m. local time (20:30 GMT).The depths of the quakes varied 23 miles (37 kilometers) to 38 miles (61 kilometers)
The last of them occurred at 22:34 local hour and with a magnitude of 3.7 degree at Richter scale, reported the National Seismology and hydrology Institute (Insivumeh).
Its epicentre was at 45.6 kilometres southeast of this capital, in Santa Rosa southern department.
Insivumeh reported that the fifth quake was at 18:22 local hour with epicentre 53.3 kilometres southeast of this capital and magnitude of 4,1 degrees.
As consequence, the National Coordinator for Reduction of Disaster reported one death, three missing and at least 11 injured, houses destroyed and damages to the infrastructure.
Since July 19 Santa Rosa is suffering the so-called seismic cluster with over 4,000 tremors registered, most of them only detectable by specialized groups. (Prensa Latina)
