Moscow, May 20. -The 106th anniversary of the death in combat of CubaâÖs National Hero Jose Marti was marked in Moscow''s Pedagogical University with the screening of the documentary "Alas con Puntas".
"Alas con Puntas" refers to trends in contemporary art in Cuba, mainly emphasizing issues related to Marti.
More than thirty students showed their support for the Cuban Revolution, making the auditorium a scene to reinforce demands for the end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
Participants stressed the link of Marti's thoughts with the noble causes of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez.
The Cuban Five, as they are also known, were detained in 1998 in Florida, Miami, and later subject to a trial full of irregularities for gathering information to prevent terrorist actions against Cuba by counterrevolutionary groups.
The students of that university campus showed interest in the transformations of the Cuban society since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959 to the present day. (Prensa Latina)
