Havana, Mar 23 .-Youth contribution to the Cuban socioeconomic development will be one of the issues of the ”Pensando Americas” (Thinking America) Youth Forum, scheduled for today in this capital, organizers announced.

 

The presence of the new generations of Cubans in the progress of the island’s several sectors such as science, health and education, will be also present in the debates of the event, Gisleidy Sosa, head of the International Relations department at the Young Communist League (UJC), said.

According to Sosa’s statements, the three panels of the forum will exchange some views on issues related to democracy and human rights with a view to the Civil Society Forum of the 8th Summit of the Americas, to be held in Peru in April.

She also explained that the validity of the ideals of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, will characterize the debates of the meeting to be held tomorrow at the University of Havana.

As a result of the event, Sosa said, the final declaration of the forum will be read, it will include the positions young Cubans will defend in the Forum, to be held in Lima.

A representation of the Cuban youth will participate in the regional meeting as part of the civil society of the Caribbean island.

It brings together more than 2,000 organizations and associations involved in virtually all branches of the political, social, economic, cultural and religious life of the country. (Prensa Latina)
