Cubans Resident in US Celebrate 26 of July

Washington, Jul 25 .- Cuban emigration organizations in Florida, highlighted on Wednesday that they join the vast majority of the island’s people to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the National Day of Rebelliousness.

 

The groups comprising the Marti Alliance coalition highlighted on Wednesday in a press release the historical significance of July 26, 1953, when led by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), the Moncada Barrack in Santiago de Cuba and the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barrack in Bayamo were attacked.

‘The insurrectionary process that culminated on January 1, 1959’ began on that date, the Antonio Maceo Brigade, the Marti Alliance (as an individual organization), the Jose Marti Cultural Association, the Bolivarian Circle of Miami Black Hippolyta and the Association of Women in Defense of the Family recalled.

The groups noted that the July 26, 1953 events and the insurrectionary struggle after them allowed to end the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship (1952-1959) and opened the way for the victorious 60 years of revolutionary process in Cuba.

Cuban immigrants said in their statement that they also pay tribute to Fidel Castro; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro; and ‘the rest of brave men who have being part of the exceptional vanguard’ that has led ‘this extraordinary process’ victoriously.
