Cuban President Congratulates People on 60 Years of Revolution

Havana, Jan 2 .-Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated his people on the 60th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, and called for happiness and the continuity of the struggle in defense of the achievements.

 

‘It is dawn in #Cuba on #the60thAnniversary of the Revolution. Yes to celebration, to happiness, to the tireless defense of everything we built and constructed together, the people of Cuba and their revolutionary government. Happy New Year’, the president posted on his Twitter account @DiazCanelB.

In another post, the president of the Councils of State and of Minister of Cuba paid tribute to those who staged the victory achieved on January 1, 1959, which allowed liberating Cuba from the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship.

‘Honor and glory to those who in January 1959 put an end to a long night of the Batista dictatorship and won for #Cuba the title of Island of Freedome’, he wrote.

Diaz-Canel also recalled that the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raul Castro, will speak at the main event on that historic date in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.

Likewise, he called on the people, whom he described as brave, courageous and noble, and confirmed as follower of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, of Raul Castro, of all those who fought for freedom and those who are fighting to preserve it, to participate.
