Argentinean Edition of Fidel Castro’s Book in Buenos Aires

Havana, Cuba, June 18.- The Argentinean Communist Party announced the presentation on June 18 of the Argentinean edition of the book “Guerrilla of Time,” on Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro Ruz.

The Nestor Kirchner Patria Grande Centro is the scenario for the book launch, whose edition was made by the Cartago Ediciones S.A. publishing house, PL news reported.

The general secretary of Argentina’s Communist Party Patricio Echegaray and Cuban ambassador to Buenos Aires Jorge Lamadrid are among the personalities to attend the presentation.

The book was taken to Argentina by its author Katiuska Blanco last April, who traveled to that country to participate at the 38 Buenos Aires International Book Fair.

On that occasion, Blanco told PL news agency about her satisfaction that the first edition, out of Cuba, was going to be launched in Argentina, cradle of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara.

The author saidArgentinean Edition of Fidel Castro’s Book in Buenos Aires that in the book Fidel speaks of Che as the young man that impressed him with his modesty, humbleness, honesty and ethical and human values.

The book also evidences that the fair and sovereign Argentinean claim over the Malvinas islands, occupied by the British in 1833, is a cause backed by Fidel Castro since 1948.

The Malvinas, the struggle for Puerto Rico’s independence, for democracy in Santo Domingo and for the return of the Panama Canal, were factors that encouraged then young law student Fidel Castro to organize a Latin American Congress in Colombia.

In his interview with Blanco, Fidel says he was defending the Malvinas cause since 1948; “…for the first time as a law student I began to defend that cause more than 60 years ago,” he said.

The book offers readers the opportunity to join Fidel along his path and share the natural and transparent manner in which he recalls the events, commenting viewpoints, images and feelings.

As statesman and revolutionary who made his dream come true, Fidel reflects and his stories gather his experiences, said that author who also notes that “Humanity needs women and men capable of saving it: Fidel puts on his eternal traveler boots once again.”(Radio Cadena Agramonte)
